Advancing free and immediate access to scholarly knowledge, supporting responsible research sharing, and promoting global academic collaboration.

Our Commitment to Open Access

The Journal of Human Behavior and Societies (JHBS) is committed to promoting the unrestricted dissemination of scholarly knowledge through an open-access publishing model.

The journal provides free and immediate online access to published research addressing human behavior, sociology, psychology, social institutions, cultural studies, social development, and related interdisciplinary fields.

JHBS believes that publicly accessible research strengthens academic exchange, increases the visibility of scholarly contributions, and supports researchers, educators, students, policymakers, and communities worldwide.

01

Free and Immediate Access

All articles published in JHBS are made freely accessible online immediately upon publication. Readers are not required to purchase subscriptions or pay access fees to read, download, or consult the journal's published research.

02

No Registration Barriers

Published articles are accessible without mandatory reader registration or institutional authentication. This approach supports equitable access to academic knowledge regardless of geographical location, institutional affiliation, or financial resources.

03

Creative Commons Licensing

JHBS publishes articles under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, subject to the journal's applicable licensing policy.

This license allows readers to copy, redistribute, adapt, translate, and reuse published material, including for commercial purposes, provided appropriate attribution is given and the license conditions are followed.

04

Copyright Retention by Authors

Authors retain copyright ownership of their original scholarly work while granting JHBS the non-exclusive right of first publication and permission to disseminate the article through its publishing platform.

Authors may exercise their rights in accordance with the applicable open-access license and publication agreement.

05

Reader Rights and Reuse

Readers may read, download, print, share, distribute, and reuse published articles without requesting additional permission for activities permitted by the applicable Creative Commons license.

Users must provide appropriate credit to the authors, acknowledge the original publication, link to the license, and indicate modifications where relevant.

06

Article Processing Charges

JHBS may apply Article Processing Charges (APCs) to accepted manuscripts in accordance with its published fee policy. Such charges support editorial administration, manuscript preparation, production, and publication services.

APC payments do not determine manuscript acceptance or influence editorial decisions, which are based on scholarly merit, research quality, and ethical standards.

07

Author Self-Archiving

Authors may deposit and share their published articles in institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal websites, and academic research platforms in accordance with the applicable license.

Authors are encouraged to provide a complete citation and a link to the official publication on the JHBS website.

08

Global Research Dissemination

The journal supports the worldwide exchange of research findings by removing financial barriers to reading published articles.

Open access promotes interdisciplinary collaboration, knowledge transfer, educational development, and wider engagement with research concerning human behavior and societies.

09

International Open Access Principles

JHBS supports the principles reflected in the Budapest Open Access Initiative, the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge, and the Bethesda Statement on Open Access Publishing.

These principles emphasize free availability, responsible reuse, proper attribution, and broad dissemination of scholarly research.

10

Transparency and Ethical Publishing

JHBS seeks to maintain transparent publication practices, clearly communicate applicable licensing terms, respect intellectual property rights, and uphold ethical editorial standards.

The journal encourages responsible knowledge sharing while protecting research integrity, appropriate attribution, and the scholarly publication record.

Our Commitment to Accessible Knowledge

The Journal of Human Behavior and Societies believes that scholarly knowledge should be widely accessible, discoverable, and reusable.

Through immediate open access, author-retained copyright, transparent licensing, and responsible publishing practices, JHBS seeks to advance academic collaboration, research visibility, and the global exchange of knowledge concerning human behavior and societies.
